An Art Deco Affair

At one of our recent vintage wedding fairs I spoke to a lot of brides that are interested in the Art Deco style. Recently, the 1920's has been a very popular era for bridal inspiration and our pretty dance shoe and t bar shoes are very well suited for these type of dresses. In my opinion this era of silent movies, flappers and dance halls is the epitome of glamour and elegance. The dress silhouettes are tall and minimal but there is room for rich embellishment. You can really play around with different elements of beading, gilding, pearls and diamante. We've pulled together a few ideas for a gorgeous deco bridal look. Hope you like it!

LAWA Real Weddings - Serena & Ronan

Serena and Ronan married on the 5th of June, in Youghal Co.Cork Ireland on a lovely sunny day. We are so pleased to share these happy and pretty moments with you.

The colour scheme was light, bright and pastel with touches of bright green that really looks lovely. And how awesome is their wedding car? I think I have just fallen in love, so cute!

Serena wore a beautiful floral lace dress with our Scarlett Ivory satin & glitter, plaited t-bar dance shoes. She kept her accessories to the minimum with classic pearl drop earrings & necklace and a large flower in her hair. Spring time perfection!

Get some midnight magic!

For Midnight Magic we are looking at a dramatic wedding pallet in shades of black, blue & gold. Very striking and bold. What is more romantic than sipping champagne and dancing your first dance under a starry sky surrounded by family, friends and twinkling lights. So for those who like their wedding to be filled with some midnight magic & stardust, we've pulled together a fab inspirational board on Pinterest

You can opt for a dramatic wide skirt gown as above or a slinky dress with shimmering metallic details such as the silk dress below. Navy lace looks elegant and stylish for the bridesmaids dresses. For a bold shoe choice sidestep the usual cream or white, rather choose contrasting suede heels, such as our black Klara or navy Anoush.

Be bold, be creative, play with light & contrast. Get all your guests involved with sparklers or hot air lanterns. Fill the night sky with love and light. We also love the idea of "I love you to the moon and back". It is whimsical, ethereal and utterly romantic. There are also lots of ideas for easy DIY touches such as the glitter balloons below.

The lovely Swarovski Crescent Moon and Star Ring has me swooning, I need it in my life right now!
